My work explores the relationship between our sensory experience of the world, subconscious mind, and ever-changing psychologies. I currently work with paper, anthotype printing and reworking past prints (also referred to as chine-collé). For this project, I have used an old Canon Powershot to record placed items (a mix of domestic and crafted) within the confines of our light-restricted, family garage-come-studio. Central to these conceptual images is handmade paper (made from office wastepaper). Each paper form is inspired by an object that was found in the surrounding landscape - could be in or outside space. The subsequent lightbox arrangement, adds a layer of storytelling that might reference the history and folklore of the place that inspired it, as well as revealing textural and surface details in the paper itself.
