This series of mixed media illustrations were created in celebration and inspired, in part, by themes of collaboration, discovery: hopes, fears and unresolved questions. More details and gallery space are on the Trappist-1 website. © 2025, Amanda Smith</image:caption>

      <image:title>Art - Caves and Foolish Lanterns</image:title>
<image:caption>My work explores the relationship between our sensory experience of the world, subconscious mind, and ever-changing psychologies. I currently work with paper, anthotype printing and reworking past prints (also referred to as chine-collé). For this project, I have used an old Canon Powershot to record placed items (a mix of domestic and crafted) within the confines of our light-restricted, family garage-come-studio. Central to these conceptual images is handmade paper (recycled wastepaper). Each paper form is inspired by an object that was found in the surrounding landscape. Could be in or outside space. As well as revealing textural and surface details in the paper itself, the subsequent lightbox arrangement adds a layer of storytelling that expresses my own psychological responses at the time of arrangement, as well as, referencing the folklore of the place that inspired it.</image:caption>
